Chris Miller, Safeguarding Children Board Independent chair, Harrow Council

I have worked with Emma for nearly two years on an exciting and complex project which has improved the services for children who have suffered from physical and sexual abuse. Getting the police service, local authorities and health providers and commissioners to cooperate in innovation is very hard. And yet Emma’s relentlessly upbeat and energetic approach to problem solving , negotiating and getting stuff fixed has resulted in a significant transformation in London which has got other parts of the country interested.

I have worked on many complex projects and believe that this is one that has seen the most remarkable advancement in a short time of any that I have encountered. Much of that progress is down to Emma’s strong technical skill set allied with her fine emotional intelligence.
